we are a sustainable and modern take on a traditional inn. we do things a little differently - a little like a boutique hotel, a little like an airbnb, and a little like a chic bed & breakfast - but 100% us!
so whether you are looking for a romantic couples retreat, a special spot for a solo trip, a spa-inspired self-care stay, or a place to plug in and work remotely, the compass is the perfect place to choose your own advinture in oregon wine country!
check-in (3:30pm) & check out (11am) is fully digital.
we do not have a front desk, so while it may seem like its an unmanned hotel - we are around, working behind the scenes to make your stay amazing.
swoon-worthy spaces
our property consists of the main building - which is a 2-story fully renovated and reimagined 1914 house, and a newly built standalone studio. please note that we do not have an elevator - the south, west and north suites are on the 2nd floor and only accessible by stairs.
all of our rooms feature ensuite spa-inspired bathrooms, personal workspaces, complementary snacks and welcome wine, smart TVs, incredibly fast Wi-Fi, Frette italian linens, down duvets, multiple pillow options and silent heat pump units (i.e., sustainable air conditioning).
our design-inspired common spaces that include a cute cafe - with all day nespresso, rishi tea, and filtered ice & water, our famous wine library - with an honor bar filled with some of our fave local beverages and our various outdoor spaces - like the fire pit, horseshoes and an outdoor dinning area - will make you question your plans to leave the property during your stay!

we are in the center of it all!
we are a 2-block walk to mcminnville's celebrated 3rd Street and its amazing tasting rooms, cute boutiques and acclaimed restaurants; just minutes from dozens of world-class estate wineries; or if you are looking to take in the ocean air, we are a quick hour from oregon's stunning coastline.
PET FREE
while we love pets, given our size, we are a pet-free zone.

the main building is 21 and older but the standalone studio is family friendly!
CLEAN BETWEEN
we clean & disinfect between stays, not daily to reduce waste and conserve water.
we have extras of anything you might need during your stay.
SMOKE FREE
we are a smoke & vape free property.
if you partake, please do so outside and away from other travelers.
