just a short drive from the compass, Carlton and the surrounding hills has some of our fave wineries and tasting rooms, not to mention one of the best restaurants in the valley (Hayward)!

in 2006, the Eola-Amity Hills was officially recognized as an AVA. today its known for producing ultra-premium Pinot Noir and other varietals like Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gamay Noir. The Eola-Amity Hills AVA boasts over 2,850 acres of vineyards and over 30 wineries.
DUNDEE / RIBBON RIDGE
just a 15 min drive from the compass, the Dundee Hills are home to some of the best wineries in the Willamette Valley. you literally can't go wrong, but here are some of our faves!

sixty years ago, the first vines that would turn this region into a globally recognized American Viticultural Area (AVA) renowned for its award-winning wines were planted. the Dundee Hills is the birthplace of Oregon’s Pinot Noir movement - check out more here.
NEWBERG
just 20-25 min from us, Newberg boasts some of fantastic wineries and views of the valley! its hard to list all the magical locations you can visit but these are where we love to spend hours enjoying the amazing wines and sights!

the Newberg areas is home to 3 different AVAs - the Chehalem Mountains, Laurelwood District, and Ribbon Ridge AVAs and boasts of a lot more than just great wine - we added a fun brewery and restaurants to round out your advintures!
NEWBERG - CAULKINS LANE
we know there are a lot of options in Newberg - so we'll make it easy for you! Caulkins Lane is home to some wonderful wineries that you can spend the afternoon bouncing between - or better yet biking between with Wine de Roads!
PS: Aryln is a wonderful working farm with the cutest animals and its woman owned and run!!!
OREGON COAST
the oregon coast is stunning and only an hour away. whether you do a day trip or overnight stay - the coast is always a good idea.
our recommendations follow a loop between the compass and Portland - which can be done in a day or extend your stay an enjoy a night on the coast - we recommend staying in Manzanita or Astoria and checking out Adrift Hotels - we dig them!
